First World Plaza was officially opened on December 1, 2001. It has a new age indoor and outdoor theme park and also houses more than 90 retail shops and F&B outlets. The First World Plaza features themed boulevards, reminiscent of famous landmarks such as Champs Elysees, London, Venice, Times Square, Universal Walk and Genting Walks.

The indoor theme park provides family rides such as the enchanting Venice Gondola Boat ride, the colorful 60 feet tall Ferris Wheel, the pleasant Reindeer Cruiser and the breathtaking views from the Rio Float, the first ever theme park suspended ride in Malaysia. Other exciting entertainment is the rock climbing experience and Genting Sky Venture, the first ever skydiving simulation attraction in Asia and second in the world. There are also other famous icons such as the Statue of Liberty, Hollywood Oscar, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and Big Ben can be found.

You get a variety of restaurants, dessert parlors and cafes at each theme area. We had our meal at the Marrybrown Family Restaurant, a fast food chain just like McDonald and Jollibee.

The menu at Marrybrown also offers much variety such as crispy fried chicken, burger, seafood, rice base foods, noodles, finger food, ice cream and beverages. Catering to both young and old. Founded in 1981, Marrybrown operates in more than 100 restaurants in Malaysia.

We experienced the Snow World winter wonderland with a temperature at minus 6 degrees Celsius. Winter jacket, boots and gloves were provided free of charge. However, children below 3 years old and below 2 feet are strictly prohibited to enter the Snow World.

We were thrilled to see the Extreme Cresta Run Toboggan slide. Young and old alike enjoyed the ride. A maximum weight of 65 kg. and a minimum height of 4 feet applies to visitors who would like to take the slide ride.

Picture taking inside are not allowed. However, there are professional photographers willing to give service. You can claim your pictures at Momentos Photos booth (outside the Snow World) and pay a certain amount for each picture your going to get.

Snow World is located at Level 2A, First World Plaza. Admission tickets adult-RM17, child-RM14, Family Package (2 adults and 2 children) RM58 (rates as of 2007).

I was so thrilled when we decided to try the Ripley's Haunted Adventure. We didn't really know what to expect. It looks so unique where a wooden cage was raised mechanically in a vertical shaft in order to transport people up to the top.

Sadly, it was a little bit of a let down. It was just okay, nothing special compared to other haunted houses. Entrance Fee is Rm18 for adults and RM15 for children 7-12 years old (rates as of 2007) .

Then, we went to Ripley's Believe it or not! Museum. There are works of art made from everyday objects, incredible collections and strange hobbies.

There are exhibits from the multi-faceted world of science and presentations of elaborate rituals from exotic religions and cultures. There are also illusions, state of the art technology, videos and special effects. Here are just some pictures to show you the wonders of Ripley's.

This one is said to be the luckiest chair in the world,. A golden chair made of lucky horseshoes. I hope these lucky horseshoes bring us more blessings, protection, good health, good fortune and luck. Amen! :)

luckiest chair

unbelievable :)

The bizarre, the unique and the truly one-of-a-kind exhibits will surely fascinate and entertain the entire family.

Aside from Ripley's, there is also the Genting Sky Venture. It is a state of the art skydiving wind tunnel that gives ordinary people the chance to feel the thrill and sensation of jumping out of an airplane and free falling through the sky just like a skydiver. You'll experience the ultimate skydiving simulator fly in winds up to 196 km/hr in the one and only wind tunnel in Asia! The very experienced and friendly Body Fly instructors are at your service. Located at Level 2, First World Plaza.

If you like rock climbing, there is also the Genting X-pedition wall located at Level 2B. It's a Rock climbing indoor theme park and they also have professionals to lend you a helping hand.

Genting Highland and First World Plaza has a lot more to offer. Plus the cool night air, the lights, colors and designer street lamps, all of which add a touch of a fairy tale-like atmosphere.

We definitely didn't miss out on endless fun and adventure. I would love to come back again!
