Part 2: THE BOUTIQUE BED AND BREAKFAST

Saturday night it poured rain, so we decided to have our dinner at The Boutique Bed and Breakfast that also offers a dining experience. The Hawaiian Bar-B-Que Restaurant mainly makes fruit infused meat and seafood dishes for guests to enjoy (lunch and dinner).

We ordered the famous Baby Back Ribs (Php 450.00) with pineapple, which has a nice crisp outside texture, juicy and tender. We also had Blue marlin Barbeque Php 168.00, very small serving dished up with bananas (good for those who are on a diet), Choco Peanut Butter Banana Shake Php 135.00 (a heavy frozen treat with super rich chocolaty and great banana taste), and Apple Iced Tea Smoothie Php 125.00.

Guess who was the famous personality sitting at the table next to us? Turns out that former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos with a couple of friends were having dinner there as well.

As always, famous personalities do often get preferential treatment. There were quite a few people who asked her for a picture taking. I also wanted to have a souvenir shot but I refrained myself from doing it thinking that I might be intruding upon her privacy. But more often than not, I don't normally get star struck over celebrities.

Back to our room while watching movie, "In Her Shoes" starred by Cameron Diaz, I was looking forward for a nightcap to be served at 9:00 pm (time was stated in their welcome letter). Watching the clock tick to 9:15 pm, no one came (I was thinking maybe their still busy distributing to other rooms because I could hear the clang of the utensils). Then it was half past nine. None. Then it was ten thirty. None. It seemed like my suspicion was well founded. We waited in vain. So, I decided to call the front desk. Although a little annoyed, I still asked the female staff in a nice voice and told her that we haven't receive our snack yet. And she said, "OKAY". No explanation or apology was offered. Almost 11:00 pm, the hot chocolate with marshmallows and churros were delivered to our room. tsk, tsk...

Another problem that we encountered was locking the terrace sliding door. HB asked the bellman for help. Both of them tried several times to lock the door but to no avail. The problem was not the deadbolt, but the two sliding doors as they were not properly leveled. However, the nice bellman was very apologetic and assured us that we are safe because they have a 24-hour roaming security guard. Just to be sure, we decided to put a chair inside the room near the sliding door that serves as our alarm in case someone would try to enter.

(NOTE: This review is my opinion and is based on past personal experience.)
