THE MAGNIFICENT LOVE RIVER
SHARE THIS ARTICLE:It was on a perfect cool weather Monday when we had a lovely walk along the Love River, and got to sink our teeth into some really decent photo-ops.
It acquired the name "LOVE RIVER" as it became a particularly popular romantic place for dating lovers.
Looking at this stunning place, it's hard to imagine that this was once a heavily polluted river. But the restoration project that began a few years back drastically changed the river to its natural splendor. And today, the Love River has newly built boulevards, attractive riverside park, outdoor cafes, Love Boat tour and bicycles for rent.
It is said that the park is especially lovely in the evening (sadly, we didn't have time for a visit). And that Cultural event such as concerts, lantern festival, dragon boat racing and some sport games are often held.
This reminds me of the Merlion symbol in Singapore.
There are also beautiful bridges arching across Love River.
Visitors can take a boat ride in the afternoon or go on a night time tour to fully enjoy the river sights. Boat ride starts operating at 4:00 in the afternoon.
There are some nice structures near the river including the Holy Rosary Cathedral.
Hands down this is the best river park I've been to. It's super huge, great paved pathway suitable for walking, jogging and bicycling, gorgeous scenery, no crowds thronging, very clean and well maintained place.
If this is only near to our house, I could probably hang around here everyday, sip my morning heavenly hot chocolate while reading some books and fashion magazines, or just enjoy and feel that early morning fresh air. Ah, just thinking about it makes me wanna go there again. :-))
Note: It was still winter when we were there, which was refreshing but not too cold enough to cause shivering.
