BOOK PIRACY

We hailed a cab and headed to one of my favorite hunts - Carrefour (Shanghai). As soon as we alighted from the taxi we immediately noticed a bookstall on the street corner. At first, I thought the man was selling used books. But I just learned from HB that those were pirated copies sold at a fraction of the original price.
While HB browsed among the books on the wooden cart, fortunately I managed to discreetly position my digital camera and finally dared to capture some pictures. (I'm the bravest, wohoo!)
Because of the very cheap price, without having second thoughts HB indulged himself in some book buying. But as soon as we left, the Shanghai police carried out a surprise raid and confiscated the pirated goods.
Folks, I don't entice you to buy something pirated, okay. I can safely say that these are the only pirated books we have out of hundreds displayed in our shelves (in fact, our house looks like already a mini library). ;)
