RESORT WORLD MANILA: PART I - MAXIMS TOWER HOTEL

SHARE THIS ARTICLE:

The main reason most people visit Resort World Manila is to gamble. As for us, we have no interest in the gambling scene but we did visit the place twice already. We've been here before when we stayed at Marriott Hotel. And just recently we managed to spend a night at Maxims Tower Hotel. It's the only six-star all-suite luxury casino hotel in the Philippines so I was pretty excited about our hotel-cation.

We got a bit lost at first trying to find the Maxims lobby. There was a bunch of people near the entrance of the building (later we found out they were hotel staff). We found the hotel lobby located on the second floor.

Check-in took a while, but we got a warm welcome refreshing juice drink while waiting for our room.

On our way to our room, I notice there's a hotel staff/security on every floor of the hotel.

The Maxims Suite looks great with bolder palette and equipped with everything one could need. However, for the price, I was expecting a more spacious room. A night stay cost Php 13,800 but we found a perfect deal on the internet.

We did get another present - a plate of fresh fruit in the room.

A mini bar stocked with snacks and small bottles of alcoholic beverages (for sale). Free coffee and tea making facilities.

But the key features of Maxims Tower rooms are the sophisticated gadgets and interfaces, from 42" HD Internet TV with wireless keyboard, temperature control to high-end alarm clock radio.

There is also the exclusive Avaya guest media hub interface that provides a touch screen menu for service and accommodation.

Another feature that I like is the huge bathroom, which offers a double under-counter lavatory, plus vanity space and a chair, a separate walk-in shower and toilet room. What's more they have this high-tech touch free trashcan that uses a motion-detecting sensor.

It is also well-stocked with generous MX toiletries such as large bottles of lemongrass citrus scent, shampoo, shower gel and lotion.

We popped down afterwards to a burger restaurant called Stackers Burger Cafe on the fourth floor of Newport Mall for a late lunch. HB and I both loved the 100% Australian beef and the fries were great, too!

Room service is around the clock but with a very limited menu. So we decided to have a take-out dinner from Savory Restaurant located on the ground floor of Star Cruises Center just across the Maxims Tower. We couldn't pass it up so HB grabbed again some late night snacks at Stackers Burger Cafe and UCC Cafe Terrace.

Normally I'd spend the whole day just lounging around in my pajamas and glue my eyes to the TV. Unfortunately, CNN channel is not available and also my favorite Korean TV channel - KBS World. Yes, I've been a long time fan since 2005 of Korean TV series (but NOT the tagalized version), Korean films and even Korean variety shows.

Hope you all are doing lovely!
