Todd English Food Hall Manila's First Celebrity Chef Restaurant

After hearing so much about Todd English Food Hall, HB and I decided to try it out on a weekday night with my elder sister Ate R. and niece. It's a pretty huge restaurant around 900sqm but the communal dining area was packed to capacity that night.

We decided to give it a try even though we saw a crowd waiting outside for a table. The staff put our name on the waiting list, but HB must have intensified his convincing skills at some point because in just a few minutes we were finally admitted inside.

And because it was the replica of the New York flagship branch, and first venture outside the States by a New York Celebrity Chef and TV Personality Todd English - I figured it was a too fancy restaurant and charging food at exorbitant prices. But nope, it was fairly reasonable and the selection was sufficient. We tasted Crab Carbonara (P490), Classic Burger (P300), T.E. Half Chicken (P320), Crab Fried Rice (P299), and OMG Chocolate Cake (P420). We had quite a few bites of each dishes.

Crabonara
Classic Burger: Freshly home ground 4 cut meat burger pattie, tomato, iceberg lettuce, mustard, T.E. sauce, cheddar cheese on a toasted homemade brioche bun

Seared Tuna Loin
T.E. Half Chicken: 24 hours brined boneless half chicken, with sauteed corn, tomato and edamame served with Mango Vinaigrette

Crab Fried Rice
OMG Chocolate Cake

Food was undeniably astounding in presentation and tastefully seasoned. It gets an unreserved thumbs up from us. The Seared Tuna Loin was well executed, seared and flavorsome on its outer surface but rare on the inside which produced an exciting texture but reminded me of sashimi. The OMG Chocolate Cake, which is made of silky pudding, Milo cereal crumble and chocolate gelato was amazingly yummy. We chowed down this dessert like there's no tomorrow. :D

The Wine and Tapas Bar
Pasta and FlatBread Pizza Station
The Raw Bar
Dessert Station with the Cupcake Ferris Wheel as the centerpiece
Todd English Food Hall is the first restaurant that sets the trend for the Food Hall concept in Manila. It has nine food stations which include Pasta Station, the Pizza Station, the Asian Station, the Grill Station, the Raw Bar, the Sushi Bar, the Dessert bar, the Salad and Charcuterie section, and the Wine and Tapas Bar.

I would suggest an early reservation or coming on weekdays during lunch time. It's probably a little less crowded and you get to pick your own seats.

Address:

Till next time... toodles,
