What Is There To Do at Nguyen Hue Boulevard?

Our first visit to Vietnam was in 2007, and this was our second visit. I can't believe how time flies so fast. Ho Chi Minh is not the Saigon it once was. So much have changed in the city. Shopping malls, buildings, and coffee shops are sprouting all over.
Another thing I have observed is the new Nguyen Hue Boulevard, which is a long pedestrianized street (around 670 meters long and 64 meters wide) from Ho Chi Minh City Hall and ends at Bach Dang Wharf by the Saigon River. Nguyen Hue officially launched in 2015.
Alongside the boulevard is a variety of restaurants, cafes, and buildings such as the Ho Chi Minh City Hall or People's Committee Building, historical Rex Hotel, Union Square shopping mall, Cafe Apartment and Bitexco Financial Tower.

It has many benches positioned along the two sides of the street. It's nice to sit here, especially early in the morning because it's relatively quiet, with a great laid back feel without throngs of crowds. But if you prefer for a much livelier, bustling atmosphere visit here at night. It's just a bit crowded since it's a popular attraction for many locals and tourists.
One of the main attractions at Nguyen Hue is the two water fountains with laser light beams where water shoots straight up from holes in the ground, which only function late in the afternoon 'til evening. Some children love having fun by running through the sprinklers and get wet. 😁 It's easy to stroll around and take in the sights.
If you're tired of walking, you can visit the Cafe Apartment with numerous cafe and tea shops, or pop in at Trung Nguyen Legend and grab an authentic Vietnamese cup of coffee just like what we did. 😉
