Staying at The Myst Dong Khoi (w/ VIDEO)
SHARE THIS ARTICLE:The Myst Dong Khoi perhaps is the only hotel, around with unusual decor, the white exterior of the building, and the peculiarly shaped windows embellished with green plants and foliage. And as you walk into the lobby of the hotel, the unique ceiling might get your attention. According to what I've read, the ceiling constructed from materials reclaimed from the old Saigon shipyards. (See the video in the middle of the post.)
As I've mentioned in my previous post, we've stayed at other several hotels during our trip. The Myst Dong Khoi was the second hotel we chose after the Rex Hotel. We've booked The Saigon Signature Suite (USD$ 254++ price as of 2019), which is around 50 sqm. The room comes with a small living area and a king-size bed, and the special feature is a private balcony with a deep stone tub. If you're an exhibitionist, you'll probably love this semi-open bath area with a river view as you soak in the tub. 😀😀😀 Don't fret, if you're not that confident enough to expose your body, there's a native wood blinds, for cover. There's also a separate bathroom with a rain shower, for privacy.

Another amusing feature is the toilet cubicle, which is probably visible from the other building through a large glass window. My gripe was that the lavatory or basin was outside the cubicle, and there was no bidet, only tissue paper.
Although beautiful, my other beef with the room was the aircon not working well. Also, it was a bit noisy during our stay as there was a construction work in progress. We could also hear footsteps and door shutting on the hallway. It drastically affects my sleep.
