My Country House Tagaytay is a charming restaurant that draws inspiration from the picturesque countryside and rustic homes nestled on hills and ridges. Recently opened, it has quickly gained popularity as an alfresco garden restaurant that offers a delightful unique dining experience.

One of the standout features of My Country House Tagaytay is its delectable elevated Heritage classic cuisine. Known for its mouthwatering dishes, this restaurant never fails to impress its patrons. During our visit, we had the pleasure of trying some of their most recommended dishes.

To start our meal, we indulged in the irresistible Cheese Gougeres. These bite-sized pastries were perfectly baked, with a crispy exterior and a warm, gooey cheese filling. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, setting the tone for the rest of our dining experience. Then we had the Greenhouse Grain Salad (P450), that surpassed the ordinary offerings found in other restaurants.

Moving on to the main course, we couldn't resist the Twice Cooked US Beef Short Ribs (P1,200). The beef was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, and accompanied by a rich and flavorful sauce. It was a true culinary delight that left us craving for more.

Another highlight of our meal was the Crispy Whole Pork Knuckle Confit (P1,200), a dish that showcased the restaurant's expertise in preparing traditional comfort food. The pork was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a crispy skin that added a delightful crunch to each bite. Served with a side of tangy sauce, it was a dish that truly satisfied our cravings. It's the best pork knuckle I've ever tasted, hands down!

For seafood lovers, the Chef's Famous Melting Salmon was a must-try. The salmon was impeccably cooked, with a crispy skin and a moist, flaky interior. It was served with a refreshing citrus glaze that complemented the natural flavors of the fish.

One of the Filipino classics of the day was the Country Chicken Relleno. (P995). This was given a modern twist, with a tender and juicy chicken stuffed with a flavorful mixture of herbs, spices, and other ingredients. It was a dish that epitomized the restaurant's commitment to elevating traditional recipes.

To complete our meal, we couldn't resist trying the Pacific Scallops, Tiger Prawns, Salmon and Calamari Brochettes (P750). Skewered with a variety of fresh seafood, these brochettes were grilled to perfection. Each bite was bursting with flavors, making it a perfect ending to our sumptuous lunch.

The restaurant also offers a wide variety of delectable pastries and freshly baked breads. From flaky croissants to mouthwatering muffins, there is something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Their bread selection includes artisanal loaves, crusty baguettes, and wholesome whole grain options. Whether you're looking for a tasty treat to enjoy with your meal or a loaf of bread to take home, this restaurant has you covered with their delectable pastry and bread offerings.

One of the highlights of my visit was getting to meet the resident mascots of My Country House – three adorable American Silkie chickens. These fluffy creatures added a touch of whimsy to the already enchanting ambiance. I couldn't resist taking a few photos with them, capturing their playful personalities.

My Country House menu offered a wide array of delectable dishes, each prepared with utmost care and attention to detail. From traditional Filipino favorites to international cuisines, every bite was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more. The ingredients used were fresh and locally sourced, adding an authentic touch to the entire dining experience.

Our visit to My Country House Tagaytay was a culinary journey that exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect blend of exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a deep appreciation for the culinary heritage of the region. We left with satisfied taste buds, cherished memories, and a newfound admiration for the culinary treasures that Tagaytay has to offer. We highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

One suggestion I have, though, is to consider adding a separate air-conditioned room.😄 I found it a bit hot that day. I believe having an air-conditioned space would greatly enhance the dining experience for customers who prefer a cooler environment, just like me. Just thought I'd mention it.😉

Exploring the Pink Sister's Convent and Chapel:

Right after we finished our lunch, we decided to make a quick stop at the Pink Sister's Convent and Chapel. As I crossed the threshold of the chapel, I took a moment to express my gratitude to God for the abundance of blessings in my life. The peaceful ambiance of the chapel provided the perfect setting for reflection and appreciation.

The Pink Sisters Chapel, officially known as the Adoration Convent of Divine Mercy. This place has become so iconic that it's commonly referred to as the Pink Sisters Chapel.

What makes this chapel and convent so special? Well, it's the incredible number of answered prayers and petitions that have taken place here. Pilgrims and devotees from all over have been drawn to this place because of the overwhelming faith and devotion of the Pink Sisters.

These sisters have dedicated their lives to prayer and adoration, spending countless hours in silent worship. It's truly awe-inspiring to witness their unwavering commitment to their faith.

Make your visit to the Pink Sisters Chapel truly special by taking advantage of the opportunity to request a prayer tailored to your need. By jotting down your prayer intentions on a piece of paper and leaving it at the designated prayer request area, you can ensure that your specific needs and desires are included in the prayers offered at the chapel.

The Pink Sisters Chapel is a place of solace and hope for many. People come here to seek guidance, find peace, and offer their prayers. The atmosphere is serene and tranquil, making it the perfect spot for reflection and contemplation.

If you ever find yourself in the area, I highly recommend paying a visit to the Pink Sisters Chapel. It's a place where miracles seem to happen, and where you can feel the power of prayer.

Roadside Plant Stalls:

After our brief visit to the convent, we ventured further along the road and stumbled upon a row of vibrant plant stalls. Intrigued by the colorful display of flora, I couldn't resist the temptation to explore further. The variety of plants available was astonishing, ranging from delicate flowers to sturdy succulents.

Among the plethora of plant options, I found myself particularly drawn to snake plants and fortune plants. Known for their striking appearance and ease of care, snake plants have always held a special place in my heart. Their long, slender leaves and vibrant green color instantly caught my attention. Without hesitation, I decided to purchase a few snake plants to add a touch of elegance to our living space.

Alongside the snake plants, I also came across fortune plants. These charming little plants are believed to bring good luck and prosperity to their owners. Intrigued by their folklore, I couldn't resist taking a few fortune plants home with me. Their petite size and vibrant foliage were simply irresistible.

Twin Lakes:

Twin Lakes, nestled in the hillside, is a breathtaking leisure hub that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and culinary delights. From its lookout deck boasting mesmerizing mountain and lake vistas to its cozy dining options, this destination promises a memorable experience.

Upon arriving at Twin Lakes, we were immediately captivated by the serene ambiance and panoramic views that surrounded us. The hillside location added a touch of tranquility to our leisurely day. As I made my way to the lookout deck, I couldn't help but marvel at the majestic mountains and the lake that stretched out before me. The breathtaking scenery truly set the stage for a memorable outing.

To kick-start our exploration, we decided to satisfy our caffeine cravings at the renowned Bag of Beans. This charming café offered a cozy atmosphere and an extensive menu of delectable coffee options. Although the outside seating area provided a panoramic view of the picturesque surroundings, the rain compelled us to seek shelter indoors. Nonetheless, the warm and inviting interior of Bag of Beans provided a perfect refuge from the downpour.

As the rain began to taper off,  I took a temporary leave from the group and ventured out to explore the picturesque Twin Lakes. Little did I know that my little walk would lead me to Santis Delicatessen. This charming store offered a wide array of delectable treats, from sausages and cheeses to dairy products, dry goods, wines, and beverages.

As a self-proclaimed chocolate enthusiast, I couldn't resist picking up a bar of dark chocolate. Santis Delicatessen had a decent selection of artisanal chocolates, each promising a rich and velvety experience. The bar I chose had a high cocoa content, ensuring a deep and intense flavor profile. It was the perfect treat to savor on a rainy day. And while waiting at the cashier, I noticed a signage advertising Hazel Nut Twist. I decided to add it to my purchase. However, upon tasting it later, I found that the bread didn't quite live up to my expectations. Nevertheless, this minor setback did not dampen my overall experience at Santis Delicatessen.

Unfortunately, my little exploration of the entire Twin Lake area was cut short as the rain began pouring down once more. I hurried back to Bag of Beans where I had left my family. As soon as I arrived at the restaurant, I noticed them engrossed in a conversation about life and family. They only ordered coffee and dessert to accompany their conversation, as everyone was still quite full.

Regrettably, the restaurant we visited earlier, My Country House, did not have any noodles or pancit available. Disappointed but determined, I quickly placed an order for takeout at Bag of Beans, specifically requesting their mouthwatering pancit bihon and a delectable cake to take home. It was my special day, after all. And in our family, it has become a cherished tradition to indulge in these dishes on such occasions. Oh, let me tell you, the pancit bihon from Bag of Beans is absolutely divine.😍

Street Fruit Stand:

On our way home, the colorful displays of tropical fruits instantly caught our attention. Amidst the array of tempting options, we simply couldn't resist indulging in the succulent sweetness of juicy pineapples and the aromatic allure of fragrant jack fruits. These tropical delights were not only a feast for the eyes but also a treat for our taste buds.

Bibingka at RSM Lutong Bahay:

Excitement surged through me as I eagerly planned a detour to RSM Lutong Bahay, a local eatery known for its authentic Filipino cuisine and also their delectable hot bibingkas. The thought of sinking my teeth into their warm, fluffy rice cakes filled me with anticipation. But it wasn't just my own cravings that drove me to make this stop; I also wanted to treat my loved ones to this mouthwatering delight.

Soon, I carefully placed them inside the van, knowing that soon, my taste buds would be in for a treat. The drive back was filled with anticipation, the boxes of bibingka sitting beside me like precious treasures. 😍🍰 I could almost taste the warm, buttery goodness that awaited us. It was a taste that would transport us to a world of joy and nostalgia, a taste that would make our hearts sing with delight

Finally, we arrived home, eager to unwrap our treasure trove of bibingkas. The moment the boxes were opened, a heavenly aroma filled the air, instantly making our mouths water. It was as if the entire house had been transformed into a cozy little bakery, welcoming us with open arms.

As we sat there, enjoying our bibingkas in the comfort of our home, we couldn't help but feel grateful for this simple pleasure. It was a reminder that sometimes, the smallest indulgences can bring the greatest joy. 💕
