Solaire Resort North: Fresh International Buffet and Stunning Mangrove Art

Before heading to the Fresh International Buffet, we took some time to explore the stunning Solaire North lobby. We were immediately captivated by the mesmerizing Modern Mangrove art installation. "The MANGROVE" by Nikolas Weinstein (2024) is a stunning masterpiece that greets you with its luminous presence. Samantha Drummond and her design team, Habitus, envisioned this installation for the Solaire Resort Atrium, creating a breathtaking obelisk inspired by the natural meeting of forests and seas in the Philippines. This 27 x 28 x 35.5-meter sculpture, crafted from glass, stainless steel, cable, silicone, and acrylic, seamlessly integrates with the atrium. It reaches for the skylight like a mangrove tree, creating a sanctuary that encourages vertical movement through the space. It's like stepping into a magical forest right in the heart of the resort, making every visit feel like a grand adventure.

We couldn't resist taking photos in front of this awe-inspiring piece of art. The combination of the stunning sculpture and the elegant ambiance of the lobby made for some truly memorable snapshots.

We celebrated my elder sister's birthday with a delightful family get-together at the Fresh International Buffet in The Solaire Resort North. It was a day filled with laughter, delicious food, and unforgettable moments.

The buffet was a culinary adventure, with the highlight being the various preparations of succulent-looking lobsters. While some diners absolutely loved them, others had mixed feelings. The lunch buffet, priced at Php 2,699 per head on weekends, offered an incredible variety of dishes from around the world. From premium carving station to decadent desserts, every bite was a delight.

The birthday celebrant was overjoyed when the hotel staff surprised her with a complimentary mini birthday cake, adding a special touch to the celebration.

Meanwhile, one couple in our family went all out and brought a massive two-layer chocolate cake, which quickly became the centerpiece of our long table. As the buffet came to an end, we gathered around to slice the cake. Each family member received a generous portion to take home, ensuring the celebration—and the sugar rush—continued well after we left the restaurant. It was a deliciously memorable day!

Although bringing an outside birthday cake to eat at the restaurant is generally not permitted. We managed to make it happen because we asked for permission a few times. The cake was already with us, so we had no choice but to keep asking, and thankfully, they eventually allowed it. 😊

It was a day filled with joy, family, and delicious food. Celebrating my elder sister's birthday at Solaire North was a perfect way to create lasting memories. From the exquisite buffet to the captivating art, every moment was special. Here's to many more celebrations and unforgettable moments together!
