SHARE THIS ARTICLE:The holidays are a time for togetherness, good food, and creating unforgettable memories. For our post-Christmas celebration, we decided to indulge in the culinary delights of the newly renovated Golden Bay Seafood Restaurant, a mid-range gem located along D. Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City.
This multi-story dining haven is perfect for festive gatherings, combining authentic Chinese cuisine with a refined, family-friendly atmosphere.
During the holiday season, Golden Bay Seafood Restaurant takes on a festive glow with thoughtful Christmas decorations. A cheerful Santa Claus display in the air-conditioned lobby sets the mood, warmly welcoming diners into a cozy yet elegant space.
Interestingly, the restaurant has also placed additional dining tables in the air-conditioned lobby outside the main dining area, offering extra seating during busy holiday periods. While technically “outside” the restaurant, these tables still provide the same comfort, thanks to the controlled indoor environment.
The restaurant is particularly popular among Filipino-Chinese diners, lending it an air of authenticity. While locals do visit, they’re fewer in number, making this a hidden gem for those looking to explore authentic Chinese cuisine.
Our lunch at Golden Bay was a culinary journey through some of the finest Chinese dishes:
West Lake Minced Beef Soup: A silky and flavorful soup, perfect for warming up on festive days. L❤️ve it!
Spare Ribs with Chinese Plum Sauce: The tender ribs are coated in a perfectly balanced plum sauce, offering just the right amount of sweetness and tanginess. Juicy and tender.
Spinach Bean Curd: A creative dish that pairs the earthiness of spinach with the delicate texture of tofu. It ffers a delicate, eggy flavor, making it a delicious option for those who prefer subtle tastes.
Pata Tim with Fried Buns (₱1,600): A show-stopping slow-braised pork leg served with crispy golden buns perfect for soaking up the rich, savory sauce. A must-try for meat lovers.
Fried Crispy Seafood Noodles: A delightful textural experience with a seafood medley that’s both savory and satisfying.
Salted Fish and Diced Chicken Fried Rice: A flavorful classic packed with umami that ties the meal together.
The restaurant's mid-range pricing makes it a fantastic choice for those seeking value for money. Generous portions ensure there’s plenty to go around, making it ideal for group dining.
Golden Bay Seafood Restaurant offers more than just exceptional food—it provides a dining experience tailored to every occasion. The ground floor features a spacious à la carte dining area, ideal for casual lunches or dinners. For those seeking privacy, there are numerous private rooms, perfect for family gatherings or small celebrations.
The upper floors, accessible via stairs or elevator, houses banquet halls perfect for larger celebrations, such as weddings or corporate events. One unique feature diners will appreciate is the live aquariums, which guarantee the freshness of seafood offerings.
For added convenience, the restaurant provides ample parking and clean restrooms, ensuring that every aspect of your visit is pleasant and hassle-free.
As much as I wanted to capture the restaurant’s interiors, I chose not to out of respect for other diners' privacy. Like many, I appreciate spaces where people can enjoy their meals without the intrusion of cameras from strangers. Instead, I got a photo from the restaurant’s page to give you an idea of how it looks.
Located along D. Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City, Golden Bay is easily accessible whether you’re coming from the heart of Manila or nearby areas. Its proximity to SM Mall of Asia makes it a convenient stop for shopping and dining.
Golden Bay Seafood Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine with a modern twist. From its freshly prepared dishes to its welcoming ambiance and attentive service, this restaurant delivers an experience that’s both memorable and worth every peso.
